The Movement
It started with a poem.
Before the book. Before the movement. Before any of this had a name — there was a poem written by Brandon Rawls. That poem became the emotional seed for everything that followed.
Where It Began
A poem that refused to stay quiet.
Room on My Shelf began with a poem — written in a private moment, out of a private need. Brandon Rawls wrote it before he knew it would become a book, a movement, or a community. He wrote it because he needed somewhere to put what he had been carrying.
That poem asked a simple question: what do you do with the things you were never given permission to feel? The emotions, the memories, the dreams, the grief — the parts of yourself you learned to fold up and store away because the world didn't have room for them.
The answer, it turned out, was not to store them better. It was to finally make room.
Our Mission
From emotional storage to emotional freedom.
Room on My Shelf exists to help people become at home within themselves. Through courageous storytelling, honest reflection, and authentic community, we create spaces where people can unpack the emotional burdens they've carried, rediscover who they were created to be, and remember that even life's most painful chapters can become part of a greater purpose.
Shelf Conversations is the space where that message becomes reflection, conversation, community, and transformation. We move people from emotional storage to emotional freedom — through intimacy, grace, remembrance, and love.
"We envision a world where people no longer hide their stories, silence their emotions, or carry life's burdens alone. We see communities where vulnerability is celebrated, healing is shared, and love becomes the foundation for how we lead ourselves, our families, and one another."
What We Stand On
Our values.
01
Intimacy
We believe healing begins when people are willing to be honest — with themselves first, and then with one another.
02
Reflection
We create space to slow down, look inward, and ask the questions that matter most.
03
Grace
We hold people's stories with care, without judgment, and with the belief that every chapter has purpose.
04
Remembrance
We help people reconnect with who they were created to be — before the weight, before the silence, before the shelf.
05
Love
Love is not a sentiment here. It is the foundation — for how we lead ourselves, our families, and one another.
06
Community
We were not made to carry our stories alone. Healing is shared, and so is the journey toward it.
